WALTER LOE BARNETT
1916 - 1997


Sulphur resident Walter Loe Barnett died Saturday at the age of 81.
Barnett was born January 12, 1916, in Burnet County, Texas, the son of Ben Homer and Lillie Alberta Williams Barnett.
He was graduated from Central High School, Oklahoma City, and served in the U. S. Army during World War II.
An employee of Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. for 42 years, he was a member of Connerville First Baptist Church.
On August 27, 1971, he married Peggy Scifres in Oklahoma City, and had lived in Connerville, Oklahoma, for the past 18 years.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy, of the home; three brothers, Ben Dale Barnett, Plano, Texas; Jim Barnett, Oklahoma City; and Home Barnett, Meeker; two sisters, Nona Neal Lyons, Colorado; and Daisy Moore, Webber Falls, Oklahoma; and a number of other relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be 2 p.m. today at Meeker New Hope Cemetery with the Rev. Jeff Jinks officiating.
The body may be viewed at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel, Prague, until 12:30 p.m. today.
