PAULA MARY BANTA
1936 - 2016


Paula Mary Walker Banta was born in Arkansas City, Kansas on March 20, 1936 and departed this life at her home in Stroud, on Monday, February 8, 2016 at the age of 79 years.
Paula was the daughter of Paul and Mary Nichols Walker.
She was a resident of Stroud for 46 years.
Paula retired after 30 years working for the Stroud American Newspaper.
She married Donald Andrew Banta on July 21, 1952.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, David Walker and one sister, Judy Beth Walker.
Survivors include, her husband, Donald of the home; two sons, Donald E. Banta of Neodesha, Kansas and Winston "Dub" Banta of Oklahoma City; three daughters and husbands, Barbara Anson and Skip Wayland of Tulsa; Lelia and John Byrd of Stroud and Jodi and David Glisson of Pecos, Texas; nine grandchildren, Jeannie Nash and husband Brian of Tulsa, Oklahoma;, Crystal Collins and Quincy Norman of Davis, Oklahoma; Ricky Anson and wife Stephanie of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Wendi Wright and husband Randy of Stroud, Oklahoma; John Byrd Jr. of Stroud, Oklahoma; Donald Scott and Jennie Kelly of Topeka, Kansas; Kelli Powell and husband Tim of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma; Davi O'Donnell and husband Sean of Stroud, Oklahoma and Stacy Banta of Neodesha, Kansas; eighteen great grandchildren, Nathan and Cassie, Hunter, Trevor, Kelsey and Thomas, Blake, Gage, Kaylee, Alezra, Charles, Christian, McKenna, Kameron, Keelie, Sol, Kaleb, Caitlyn, Laci and Liam; two great great grandchildren, Kysin and Zachary and numerous relatives and friends.
Funeral serivce will be held at the Parks Brothers Chapel in Stroud on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Jerry Piatt officiating.
Service is under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud.
