RICHARD OLAN BAKER
1929 - 2014


Richard Olan Baker, 84, was born March 5, 1929 in Osage, Oklahoma which is now Parkland.
He passed away January 28, 2014 in Parkland, Oklahoma with his son, Rick and grandson, Tony at his side.
Richard started work in construction as a carpenter. He later became a driller and toolpusher in the oilfield and was a farmer his whole life.
He always kept a big garden and supplied everyone with fresh vegetables.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army having fought in both World War II and the Korean War.
He lived in Parkland his entire life.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Julius P. Baker and Ruby C. Hale; wives, Linda Osborne and Mary Baker; siblings, Charley Toles, Nelda McEntire and Buddy Baker.
Survivors include his son, Rickey D. Baker of Parkland; step-son, James Ramsey of Perkins; sons, Julius Baker and Marvin Baker of Cushing; daughter, Linda Baker of Stillwater; sons, Charles Baker and Sandy {Pooh} Baker of Stillwater; grandchildren, Tanya Brann, Tony Baker, Jennie Baker and Billy White; and sister, Ruth McCoy.
A graveside funeral will be held at 2:00 Friday, January 31, 2014 at the Parkland Cemetery in Parkland.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
