RUBY R. ANDERSON
1934 - 2008


Ruby R. Anderson, age 73 of Stroud, formerly of Cushing, passed away on Monday, August 18, 2008 at the Prague Hospital.
Ruby was born on September 30, 1934 in Pawhuska, Oklahoma to Jonas Morgan and Goldie Marie Shelton Steele.
She grew up in Schlegel and attended Schlegel schools.
Ruby married Billy Lee Anderson on April 19, 1953 in Arkansas.
They traveled with the pipeline for a number of years. They lived in Ponca City where she worked for Conoco as a security guard for seven years. They moved to Cushing in 1965, where she operated Ruby's Beauty Salon.
She enjoyed Nascar Racing and going out to eat. They were also members of the Cushing Round Up Club.
Billy preceded her in death in 2003. She moved to Stroud to be near her daughter in 2005.
Ruby was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Arnold Steele.
Survivors include her daughter, Sue Williams and husband Jim of Stroud, brothers, Morgan Jonas Steele of Ponca City, Victor Dean Steele of Ponca City, sister, Betty Pino and husband Bill of Ponca City, grandchildren A. J. Harold and Leah, Paten Key, great grandchildren, Abby Harold and Taylor Bridgeford.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home Chapel, Cushing.
Interment will follow at the Parkland Cemetery, Parkland, Oklahoma. Pastor Tony Hayes will officiate.
Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing.
