ALVINA MAGDALENA ADELHEIT OESTMANN FRAZIER

Alvina passed peacefully on Wednesday, December 27, 2017. She was born at home on September 23, 1923, in Avery, Lincoln County, Oklahoma to Alvin Henry Oestmann and Margaretha “Meta” Wiedemeier. Alvina was the youngest of seven children. Her parents moved a couple of years later to a farm in Foraker, Osage County, Oklahoma where she grew up. She loved the farm, animals and living in the Osage. Alvina attended school through the 8th grade, but she also helped her father build a barn, dig a pond and would round up the cattle on her horse.

In 1944 she attended Hill’s business college where she received a bookkeeping degree and went to work in the oil business for Anderson Pritchard Oil Company “APCO”. For eighteen years she was a full time home maker raising her children as well as volunteering for the school and church. In 1974 she returned to work for Grace Petroleum and helped put her children through college.

Alvina married Ivan Emmit Frazier, the love of her life February 20, 1955 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Oklahoma City. They loved to travel, play cards and enjoyed their family and their life together until his death in 2000. Alvina was a Baptist Hospital Volunteer, INTEGRIS Hospice Volunteer and a member of the following clubs; Psi Psi Psi Sorority, Modernette Book Club and the Oklahoma Hospitality Club.

Alvina was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Meta Oestmann, her sisters Helen Kemena, Roena Oestmann, Dorothy Fudge and her brothers Ernest Oestmann, Arnold Oestmann, Rudolph Oestmann, step son Jerold “Jerry” Ivan Frazier and son-in-law Gary Southerland.

Survivors include her children Helen Kay Southerland and Craig Alan Frazier, daughter-inlaw Julie Frazier and daughter-in-law Karen Frazier. Grand children include Erika Marion Yost husband Casey Yost, Scott Frazier wife Brandi Frazier, Larry Frazier wife Michele Frazier and Michelle O’Donnell and husband Michael O’Donnell as well as ten great grand-children and several nephews and nieces. Many friends considered her to be their “Grammy” and she was honored with that title. Funeral services will be held at Messiah Lutheran Church in Oklahoma City at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 4, 2018 with Reverend Mark Muenchow and Reverend Marvin Henschel officiating. A private burial will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Lincoln County, Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the direction of Corbett Funeral Services in Oklahoma City.

In lieu of flowers the family requested that donations be made to Messiah Lutheran Church and School where Alvina has been a member for forty-five years or INTEGRIS Hospice in recognition of their excellent care and compassion.
