JOHN PROVAZNIK
1932 - 2013


John Provaznik was born February 7, 1932, in Prague and departed this life on Wednesday, April 3, 2013, in Oklahoma City at the age of 81.
John, the son of Frank and Viola Crabtree Provaznik, was a lifelong resident of Prague.
He attended school at Mt. Hope, White, and graduated from Centerview in 1950.
John married Betty Miller on July 22, 1959, in Shawnee.
He farmed all of his life south of Prague on land homesteaded in 1891 by his grandparents. He also worked as a mechanic at Grissom Implement from 1972 to 2002 and drove a school bus for Centerview and Prague schools from 1958 to 1976.
John enjoyed hunting and fishing.
His parents preceded John in death.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Betty of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Johnny Leon and Debra Provaznik of Prague; and Travis and Amber Provaznik of Prague; daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Jony Nix of Paden; grandchildren, Monica and Janay Nix, Audra and Frank Provaznik, and Mason Provaznik; and other relatives and many friends.
The Provaznik family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Prague.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 6, at the First Baptist Church in Prague with Bro. Tim Emmons officiating.
Interment will follow at the Czech National Cemetery in Prague.
Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
