CLARA VOBORNIK POSPISIL
1939 - 2016


Clara Vobornik Pospisil was born on April 12, 1913, in Prague, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Monday, August 25, 2008, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, at the age of 95.
Clara, the daughter of Henry and Mary Pantlik Vobornik, lived in Prague most of her life until 1995 when she moved to Shawnee.
Clara married Jim Pospisil, Jr., on October 1, 1931, at her home in Prague.
He preceded her in death in 1997 following 66 years of marriage.
She was a homemaker and worked at the Underwood Laundry for many years.
She and her husband enjoyed life; they belonged to the Prague Square Dancers and were in the first group of Prague Beseda Dancers. They also belonged to the Prague Roundup Club and enjoyed playing cards, traveling, and fishing.
Clara enjoyed crocheting.
She belonged to the Garden Grove Missionary Baptist Church and was a long time member of the WFLA Lodge where she was treasurer and received a 75-year pin.
Clara's parents; son-in-law, Barrett Terrell; one brother; and four sisters also preceded her in death.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Jimmie Frederick and Brenda Pospisil of Yukon; daughters and sons-in-law, Betty Jo and Glenn Webb of Shawnee; Rose Marie and Weldon Watkins of Odessa, Texas; six grandchildren, Connie and Lonnie Greenlee; Conard and Lyn Terrell; Wenda Lynn and Terry Kelly; Kimberly Hale; Kristi Abernathy; Jimmie Robert; and Amy Pospisil; seven great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on August 28, 2008, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 29, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Garden Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Prague with Rev. Mike Raines and Rev. Charlie Clem officiating.
Interment will follow at Czech National Cemetery.
Services under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home of Prague, Oklahoma.
