BLANCHE HUNT BIOGRAPHY
1912 - 1973

Blanche Seale Hunt was born March 18, 1912, at Ft. Myers, Florida. She was an author, teacher and longtime Fallis Postmistress.
She began writing for publication in 1935, and produced six "Little Brown Koko" books, which sold 600,000 copies. Her stories, by the same title, appeared for twenty years as a monthly feature in Household Magazine.
Mrs. Hunt wrote for the Oklahoma State Legislature a story of Oklahoma entitled "The Arrow."
She began teaching in Lincoln County schools in 1934. She taught at Forest Home, Mount Vernon, Wellston and Fallis schools.
She became postmistress in Fallis in 1949 and retired in 1970.
She married Eugene A. Hunt on May 30, 1937, at Fallis, Oklahoma. They adopted a son, Daniel E.
Due to racial tension, magazines were reluctant to print "Little Brown Koko" at that time. She received more from proceeds of "Little Brown Koko" than she did for teaching school thirteen years. This was a help for two young, struggling school teachers, who were trying to get their college education between terms of teaching.
Mrs. Hunt was active in Wellston Church of Christ and Fallis Extension Club.
She died April 7, 1973. Her funeral services were at Wellston Church of Christ and burial was in Carney Cemetery.
