Monty Vee Watts
Monty Vee Watts, 37, of Shady Point, a cattle rancher, died Friday, July 16, 1999, in Shady Point.
Monty was born May 31, 1962, in Poteau.
He hauled cattle for the sale barns in eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Nana and Pop Hurst of McCurtain. He is survived by wife, Tammy of the home; two sons, Monty, Jr., and Josh of the home; one daughter, Ashley of the home; his father and stepmother, Arnol and Shirley Watts of Shady Point; his mother and stepfather, Dalaine and Wayne (Squirrel) Sloan of LeQuire; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Becky and Greg Coble of Tulsa, Sabra Scyrkels of Shady Point, Denise Bunton of Shady Point, and Brenda and Bob May of Cleveland; and five brothers and sisters-in-law, Rick and Priscilla Watts of Shady Point, Jason and Amanda Watts of Shady Point, Allen and Paula Sloan of Stigler, Donnie and Shelly Sloan of Stigler, and Tommy and Emily Sloan of Stigler.
He is survived by wife, Tammy of the home; two sons, Monty, Jr., and Josh of the home; one daughter, Ashley of the home; his father and stepmother, Arnol and Shirley Watts of Shady Point; his mother and stepfather, Dalaine and Wayne (Squirrel) Sloan of LeQuire; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Becky and Greg Coble of Tulsa, Sabra Scyrkels of Shady Point, Denise Bunton of Shady Point, and Brenda and Bob May of Cleveland; and five brothers and sisters-in-law, Rick and Priscilla Watts of Shady Point, Jason and Amanda Watts of Shady Point, Allen and Paula Sloan of Stigler, Donnie and Shelly Sloan of Stigler, and Tommy and Emily Sloan of Stigler.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 19, at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, with burial at Shady Point Cemetery, Shady Point. Virgil Cantrell and Rev. Jim Cook officiated.
Pallbearers were Terry Goldsborough, Jr. Statham, Rodney Evans, Wes Callahan, Scott Liggett, and Tom Ellis, with Gary Cochran as honorary pallbearer.
Arrangements were under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home, Poteau.
