Aurbie Katherine Hood Willingham

Aurbie K. Willingham, daughter of Cora Katherine Cummings & Columbus Green Hood ( Lum ) was born July 26, 1907, it was said in Indian Territory, some say in Arkansas. Aurbie passed away April 30, 1907 she was 89 years of age.
Aurbie was the widow of Leonard Thomas Willingham, son of Toliver Brooks and Martha Louisa Jones, Leonard preceded her in death December 15, 1994. Leonard and Aurbie were married November 12, 1923 in LeFlore County, Oklahoma . They moved to California in 1944, spent 35 years there in the Bakersfield area before moving to LaPorte, Texas in 1979. Aurbie was a warm kind and loving lady. Graveside service was at Shady Point Cemetery in Shady Point, Oklahoma at 10 a.m Tuesday, May 6, 1997.
Aurbie is survived by one daughter Gladys Oaks and her husband David Oaks of LaPorte Texas. Four sons and daughter in laws, J.B and Jennie Willingham of Bakersfield, California. Gene and Lois Willingham of Canadian, Oklahoma, Elton of LaPorte, Texas and Carl and Pat Willingham of Aspermont, Texas.
One sister Dulcie Browder of Centerton, Arkansas ,three brothers Omer Hood of Bakersfield, California, Johnny Hood of Goshen, Arkansas, Rev. Ray Hood of Poteau, Oklahoma. 18 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, 12 great great grandchildren and many step grandchildren and a host of neices and nephews.
Services were under the direction of Evans and Miller Funeral Home of Poteau, Oklahoma.
