Barbara “Bobbie” Jean Brewer was born in Spiro, Oklahoma to Eddie and Fannie Elizabeth Choate on April 3, 1930. 

She moved to San Diego, California and raised 8 children. She later went back to college and received her Licensed Vocational Nursing Degree and was employed with the University of California San Diego Hospital.  Bobbie retired in February 1997 and moved back home to Spiro.

Bobbie was a very kind, loving, and caring person who loved God and enjoyed attending church.  She also contributed to St. Jude for Children and Paralyzed Veteran’s charities.

She enjoyed listening to gospel music, watching sports, playing dominoes, phase 10, word search puzzles, and other chard games but most of all she took pride in gardening and could grow almost anything.
 

She leaves behind to mourn…her daughters, Kibibi Delois Roberson and Brenda Joyce Blue, her sons, Stanley Lewis Hams and wife Marcia, Darrall Edward Mason, Cecil Leonard Morris, her step daughter, Rosetta Delt her brothers, Eddie Choate, Jr and wife Loretta, Joe Edward Choate and wife Jimmie, her special care givers, Bertha Williams and Johnny Smith, a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends. 

She is preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Brewer, her mother, Fannie Elizabeth Choate, her daughters, Karen Annette Mason and Gwendolyn Deniese Mason, her son, James Shelton Hams, step daughter, Roberta Nelson, her brother, Barnett Choate, and her step sister, Alberta Eubanks.


Funeral services will be 12noon, Saturday, July 1st at the Mt. Triumph Baptist Church in Fort Coffee, Oklahoma with Reverend Wesley Hooks officiating.

Burial will follow in the Roselawn Cemetery in Spiro, Oklahoma under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Spiro. 

Family visitation with friends will be Friday from 5pm – 7pm at the funeral home.
