M.H. "Duke" Dunn of Stigler, Oklahoma was born September 28, 1919 in Monroe, Oklahoma to Marion and Myra Ottie (Collum) Dunn and passed away February 17, 2017 in Stigler, Oklahoma at the age of 97.

He is survived by; One daughter: Linda Lee and husband, Mike, of Poteau, Oklahoma One son: Gary Dunn of Stigler, Oklahoma Four Grandchildren: Cale Dunn and wife, April, of Eufaula, Oklahoma; Tori Shrum and husband, Paul, of Porum, Oklahoma; Alison Sparks and husband, Jason, of Poteau, Oklahoma; Aimee Ferguson and husband, Chris, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma Three Step Grandchildren: Andy Lee of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Marjorie Moreland and husband, Randy, of Montgomery, Texas; Julie German and husband, Terry, of Lake Jackson, Texas Twelve Great Grandchildren: Bailey, Drew, Josie, Tucker, Wesley, Luke, Livia, Duke, Jett, Dallas, Hannah, Montana Four Step Great Grandchildren: Brooklyn, Blake, Andrea, Natalie Several nieces and nephews

Duke was preceded in death by his wife, Reba Lou Dunn; four brothers, Cecil, Charlie, Golden, Donald; two sisters, Ruth and Mary; and his parents.

Marion Duke Dunn was an extremely active member of his community and surrounding communities. Through the years, Duke served in many capacities throughout the State of Oklahoma, Haskell County and the City of Stigler, even serving within our nations Armed Forces joining the United States Air Force. Duke served on the Kiamichi Country Board, the Kiamichi Economic Development District of Oklahoma, and the Stigler and Haskell County Industrial Development Authority. Duke was a past director of the Oklahoma Automotive Dealer Association, Executive Board Member of the Boy Scouts of America Choctaw Area, serving also the Highway 82 Association of Highway 82 Boosters. Duke was instrumental in the organization of the Stigler Drivers Education Program and a past Emergency Management Service Board Chairman. He was a member of the Stigler Lion’s Club and a Past President of the Stigler Chamber of Commerce. Duke also assisted as the Haskell County Recreation Club Past President and was a Board Member for the United Methodist Church of Stigler. Duke was a recipient of the Stigler Chamber of Commerce Distinguished Service Award.

Funeral Service will be 2 pm Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at First United Methodist Church of Stigler with Rev. Jim Perkin officiating.

Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery in Poteau, Oklahoma under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home & Crematory of Stigler.

Pallbearers will be; Carroll Huggins, Dr. Thomas Conklin Jr., Wesley Shelton, Larry Godfrey, Jim Smith, Joe Martin

Viewing will be; Saturday 1-8; Sunday 11-7; Monday 8-8pm

Contributions may be made to Stigler First United Methodist Church.
