Dorthea Elizabeth Tobey

Dorthea Elizabeth Tobey, 76, of Poteau, passed away Thursday, April 4, 2002. She was born Oct. 1, 1925 in Poteau to Harris B. and Dona Terry.
She resided in the area for over 70 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Poteau, a 50 year member of the Eastern Star, 50 year member of the Order of the Nazarene White Shrine of Kansas City, Mo., charter member of the LeFlore County Hospital Auxiliary Guild, a charter member of the Choctaw Library Council, a homemaker and mother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Ronnal L. Tobey; and her parents.
Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Don DeMoss of Reston, Va., Terri and Wayne Edmonds of Tulsa and Lea Ann Bue of Skiatook; three grandchildren, Ron Mark DeMoss and wife Annetta of Wister, Emmy Ann Jackson of Tulsa and Toby Bue of Tulsa; three great-grandchildren, Lindsey, Taylor and Molly DeMoss, all of Wister; one niece, Peggy McConnell and husband Delbert of Fort Smith; two grandnieces, J. Liz McConnell of Fort Smith and Lisa Barnes and husband Danny of Russellville, Ark.; two twin great-grandnieces, London and Olivia Barnes; and numerous loved ones and a host of beloved friends.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 6 at Evans Chapel of Memories with the Rev. Rob Hogan officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery at Poteau under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
Pallbearers will be Rene Burgland, Jr. Sockey, Delbert McConnell, Danny Barnes, Bert Corr, Dick Winters and Martin Tate.
Memorials may be made to The American Lung Association, 1740 Broadway, New York, NY 10019
