Iva Mae Mecom

Iva Mae Mecom, 72, of Spiro, passed away Monday, May 6, 2002, in Fort Smith. She was born Nov. 10, 1929 in Earlsboro.
She was a homemaker and a wonderful Christian woman who loved to help people. She enjoyed to fish and cook.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Allen Guinn and three sisters.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Mecom of the home; three sons, Larry Gene Guinn of Shady Point, Donald A. Guinn of Keota and Roger Wayne Guinn of Pocola; one stepdaughter, Carol Jeane Mecom of Spiro; one stepson, Robert L. Mecom of Keota; three sisters, Mildred Copeland of Panama, Darlene Shackelford of Cameron and Gertie Lee Hill of Poteau; one brother, Cecil Embrey of Wagoner; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren; numerous other relatives, loved ones; and a host of beloved friends.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 9 at New Life Assembly of God Church in Panama with the Rev. Joe Pierce officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
