Zela Inez Arter, 89, of Bokoshe, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2002, in Pocola. She was born May 13, 1913 in Blue Mountain, Ark. She was a member of the Old Bokoshe Baptist Church where she had served as secretary/treasurer, was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and owned and operated the Arter Grocery Store in Bokoshe.
Survivors include one son, Elbert Arter of Pocola; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; numerous other relatives and loved ones; and a host of beloved friends.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14 at Old Bokoshe Baptist Church in Bokoshe. Burial will follow in Old Bokoshe Cemetery under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Pocola.
