Wayne Kinsey Obit

Wayne Kinsey, 70, of Muldrow, passed away Friday, Feb. 22, 2002, in Little Rock. He was born Nov. 2, 1931.
He worked for the Federal Government Bureau of Reclamation for 37-1/2 years, was a reserve deputy for Kern County Sheriff's Office for 25 years, the police chief of Gans for 11 years, and a 32nd degree Mason at Lodge No. 309 in Delano, Calif. He was married for 50 years and five months. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents Odis and Mattie(Tackett) Kinsey; a brother, Jackie Kinsey and a sister, Thelma Green.
Survivors include his wife Betty of the home; three sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Gary Kinsey and wife Tina of Fresno, Steve D. Kinsey and wife Cindy of Delano and Randy Kinsey and wife Barbara of Loveland, Colo.; eight grandchildren, John, Tyler and Jenna Kinsey, Chad, Kara, Jacob, Matthew and Colton Kinsey; four step grandchildren, Brandon, Rob, Bryan and Lindsay Pierce; one great-grandson, Mason Patterson Kinsey; one sister and brother-in-law, Sue Odom and husband Ronnie of Shady Point; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Gaylon and Virginia Kinsey of Muldrow, Don and Sue Lawton of Ponca City, Linda and Herman Skelton of Sallisaw and Robert Green of Shady Point; numerous other relatives and loved ones; and a host of beloved friends.
There will be a family visitation from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27 at the funeral home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28 at Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau with the Rev. Duke Bennett and Dr. Neal Prock officiating.
Burial will follow in Old Bokoshe Cemetery under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
