Stephen G. Earnheart, 69, of Blanchard, Oklahoma, died Friday, December 11, 2015, at his home. He was born March 1, 1946, in Evanston, Illinois, to Dr. Harold E. Earnheart and Pauline Virginia (Darling) Earnheart.

He attended Horace Mann School and graduated from Harding High School in Oklahoma City. He spent his college years at Oklahoma State University, studying forestry until serving in the Army in Vietnam from 1967-1969. He then attended Central State University, where he obtained his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Education. He worked for several companies in the Oklahoma City area, as well as running his own lawn business for several years. He retired after 25 years with the State of Oklahoma as a Training Specialist and Drug Recognition Expert for the Alcohol/Drug Countermeasures Unit. He loved camping, the outdoors, traveling, and spending time with his family. Steve was a loving husband, a wonderful father to his two sons, and a great friend to many.

Steve was a die-hard OSU fan. “Always next year,” he would say. He loved rock and roll music, especially the Rolling Stones and AC/DC.

Steve is survived by his wife of 30 years, Karmen Beth Earnheart of Blanchard; two sons, Erich Ethan Earnheart of Oklahoma City and Stephen “Tyler” Earnheart of Houma, Louisiana; one brother, John H. Earnheart and his wife, Terry, of Edmond; brothers-in-law, James A. Slater, and Don Slater and his wife, Vicky, all of Newcastle; nephew, J. Clinton Earnheart and his family of New York City; niece, Stephanie Ashurst and her family of Edmond; his best friends, Bill Huff of Morrison, Colorado, and Dale Olds of Port Charlotte, Florida; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be at 3:00 PM, Tuesday, December 15, 2015, at the First United Methodist Church in Blanchard. Per Steve’s wishes, a portion of his ashes will be scattered at “The Creek” where he grew up and the Model Airplane Flying Field in Oklahoma City. The remainder will be interred at a later date in the Hobart Cemetery. The family wishes to thank Carter Hospice and especially Nurse Carrie for their care and support. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard. Online obituary and guestbook are available at www.eisenhourfh.com.
