Enid, OK - The funeral for Marvin "Tex" Francis Ray, 84, of Kingfisher, will be 1 p.m. Monday, April 6, 2009, at Sanders Funeral Chapel, Kingfisher. James Swain will officiate. Burial will be in Kingfisher Cemetery.
He was born June 13, 1924, in Dale to Otto and Isabel Tolman Ray and died Wednesday, April 1, 2009, at Kingfisher Regional Hospital.
He joined the Army in 1941 and served the duration of World War II. He worked as roustabout and transportation manager, among other jobs, in the oil industry.
He and Patsy married Aug. 30, 1985. They retired in 1992, traveling before moving to Kingfisher in 2004.
Surviving are his wife, Patsy, of the home; two daughters, Towannah Gar-ner and Oteka Hedrick; two sisters, Lois Cole and Au-drey Anderson; two brothers, Mendon Ray and Thomas Ray; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother.
Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, Walk for Life, King-fisher
