The funeral service for Mary Elizabeth Pierson, 78, of Yukon, formerly of Kingfisher, was held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 9, 2007, at Christ Lutheran Church in Mustang with the Rev. David Owens officiating. Burial followed in Kingfisher Cemetery under the direction of Caskets Inc., in Del City.

She was born Jan. 21, 1929, in Kingfisher to George Edward and Anna Schell Kretchmar and died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2007, at Ranchwood Manor in Yukon.

She attended Kingfisher High School. She married Jerry Allen Pierson on Nov. 7, 1946, in Wichita Falls, Texas. He preceded her in death on Aug. 11, 1963.

Survivors include four daughters, Jerrilynn Hedrick of Mustang, Cynthia Mercer of Enid, Patricia Schopf of San Antonio, and Anna McDowell of Wakita; four brothers, George Kretchmar of Okarche, Francis Kretchmar and Edward Kretchmar, both of Kingfisher, and Robert Krethmar of Kansas City, Mo.; one sister, Delores Brooks of Yukon; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
