The funeral for George Howard, 88, of Kingfisher will be 2 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Michael Strange will officiate. Burial will be in Kingfisher Cemetery. Arrangements are by Sanders Funeral Service, Kingfisher.
He was born April 14, 1917, at Lone Pine, Calif., to Jesse and Eloise Curtis Howard and died Saturday, Dec. 10, 2005, at Country Wood Manor LC, Kingfisher.
He graduated from El Reno High School. He enlisted in the military in 1940, serving through World War II in the Air Force as an airplane mechanic.
He married Valeria Svoboda Nov. 17, 1945.
He worked as a mechanic and retired in Kingfisher. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, King-fisher.
Surviving are his wife, Valeria of the home; one sister, Bernice Evans; and one brother James Streitenberger.
He was preceded in death by one brother.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, Kingfisher.
