Laura Virginia DeLung was born near Lynchburg, Va., on May 20th, 1870. Died in Kingfisher, Aug. 2nd, 1919, being 49 year and 2 month and 12 days of age at the time of her death. Her parents moved to Texas when she was about 5 years old. Her father engaged in the mercantile business but remained there only a few years when they moved to Missouri, locating at Rockville. Here she attended high school from which she graduated at the age of 17 and at once commenced to teach school in the school from which she had just graduated. On December 25, 1892, she was united in marriage with Santford Hardy. Two sons, Santford Chester and LeRoy Glenn, were born to this union. In 1901 the family came to what was then the Indian Territory and located in the newspaper business at Comanche, moving a plant from Missouri. They remained in Comanche until some five years ago when they moved to Kingfisher, having purchased the Times. Mrs. Hardy was another of the victims of the deadly influenza, never having recovered from an attack and a relapse last November.
