A memorial service for Clyde C. Corbin will be at the Burkhart
Funeral Service Chapel in Clayton, Oklahoma, on Tuesday, April 11,
2017 at 10:30 a.m., with Reverend Pete Heflin and C. Lynn Bullard
officiating.
A graveside memorial service for Clyde C. Corbin is 10 a.m.
Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at the Kingfisher Cemetery, with Reverend
Pat Daugherty officiating.
The funeral services are under the direction of Burkhart Funeral
Service, Talihina, Oklahoma.
Clyde was born May 7,1921, in Yukon, Oklahoma, to D.C. Corbin and
Ethyl Simmons Corbin and passed away at his ranch, "Talimichi," near
Albion, Oklahoma.
Accompanying his parents, who were schoolteachers, he moved to
Central High near Velma Alma, Oklahoma, and then to the "home place"
just north of Kingfisher Oklahoma.
After graduating from Kingfisher High, he attended Oklahoma A&M for
two years before volunteering for the U.S. Army.
While stationed at the German prisoner of war camp at Tonkawa, he
married Doris Kottwitz of Kingfisher.
After being mustered out of the service, Clyde and Doris settled
permanently on their new home place, their farm west of Kingfisher.
After Doris passed away in 2001, Clyde retired to his ranch near
Albion. He passed away at his rock home with views to the Kiamichi
River and Kiamichi Mountains.
He was preceded in death by his wife Doris; his daughter, Carol
Daugherty; his parents, D.C. and Ethyl Corbin; his sister, Audrey
Corbin; and his brother, Don Corbin.
He is survived by his son, Donnie Corbin and wife LaConia of Albion,
Oklahoma; his son-in-law, E.J. Daugherty and wife Pat of Eldorado,
Arkansas; his son, Ken Corbin and wife Katherine of Enid, Oklahoma;
his grandson, Weston Corbin of Oklahoma City; his granddaughter,
Carrie Walker and husband Shiloh of Nashville, Tennessee; his
grandson, Jacy Daugherty and wife Amanda of Little Rock, Arkansas;
and three great-grandchildren, Mary Carol Daugherty, Catherine
Daugherty, and Will Daugherty of Little Rock, Arkansas.
