In 1962, she began teaching math in Kingfisher school system. After retiring from teaching in 1980, she worked at H&R Block before becoming the city treasurer for the City of Kingfisher from 1982 until 1985.
She was married to William Rogers from 1937 until his death in 1977. She was married to Albert Copeland in 1983 until his death in 2002.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Felix and Ada Prunty of Kay County Okla-homa; sisters, Helen Peppard, Felicia Olivia (Peggy) Coffman, and Maudine Martine Prunty.
She is survived by two stepsons, Jim Copeland and his wife Lisa and Jerry Copeland and his wife Nancy from Kingfisher; four granddaughters, Christin Crosswhite and husband Jeremiah Crosswhite, Kerri Copeland, Allison Copeland-Coughlan and husband Brad Coughlan and Ashley Copeland; and numerous nieces and nephews. Special mention should be made of her longtime friends Ethel Moser and Glen Beebe.
She was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, Friends of the Kingfisher Library, Oklahoma Retired Teachers Association, and The Kingfisher Chamber of Commerce. She was also a longtime member of the United Methodist Church of Kingfisher. She volunteered at the Kingfish-er Library, Christmas Lights in the Park and delivered Meals on Wheels.
Adaline was an active part of the Kingfisher community. She taught hundreds of children in the school system, attended and supported many community functions and was a positive influence to her many friends. Upon Adaline’s retirement from the City of Kingfisher in 1985, she and Albert took many road trips in their motor home to every state in the U.S. (except Hawaii) and many Canadian Provinces. She owned and drove her own car for 78 years. After Albert’s passing, Adaline didn’t slow down long. She drove weekly to OKC for organ lessons, to Enid for sewing lessons on the newest machine, made numerous trips to the Red River to pick up pecans (much to the boys disapproval). She would always tell them AFTER she returned from the long trip. Her family and friends will miss her.
