Services for Walter Eugene Causey, 73, of Ada, are 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Ada, Rev. Jerry Wells and Rev. Harold Ware will officiate. A Committal Service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday at Kingfisher Memorial Cemetery in Kingfisher. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Criswell Funeral Home.

Mr. Causey passed away Friday, May 6, 2016 at an Oklahoma City hospital.

He was born May 11, 1942 in Meeker, CO to Wayland Eugene and Lillian Vesta Tinder Causey. He attended grade school at Dover and Kingfisher and graduated from Edmond High School with the Class of 1960. He received a Bachelor’s Degree from East Central University May, 1964 and a Master’s Degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant May, 1973.

He married Glenna Kay Wester June 10, 1960 at the First Baptist Church in Edmond. Mr. Causey was a teacher and coach and he was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Glenna Causey, of the home; son, Jeff Causey; his daughters, Machelle Myers, Kerry Causey and Carol Causey; his grandchildren, Morgan Myers and Mason Myers; brothers, Floyd Causey and wife Anita and Dave Causey and wife Linda; sisters, Martha Thornton and husband Jack and Peggy Stephens; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wayland and Lillian Causey; and a son-in-law, Scott Myers.

Bearers will be Gordon Garner, Val Gokey, Mike Hedge, Wayne Jaggars, Bruce McKinzie and Bruce Terronez. Honorary bearer will be Jim Holloway.
Bearers for the graveside service will be Darcy Jech, Tony Stewart, Gregg Kochenower, Jon Causey, Mason Myers and Jeff Causey.

The family says those who wish may make memorials to the Ada Homeless Services, Irving Community Center, 704 N. Oak, Room #8, Ada, OK 74820; or Ada First Baptist Church, Falls Creek Fund, 521 S. Broadway, Ada, OK 74820.
