Ruth Brown, age 83, of Kingfisher, Oklahoma passed away May 6, 2013, in Kingfisher. She was on July 13, 1929 in Fallis, Oklahoma to Harry and Lorene (Clark) Butler.

She married Chrisman "Chris" Brown on February 16, 1952 in Oklahoma City. She had lived in Kingfisher for the past 18 years and previously lived in Wellston.

Ruth was a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Wellston. Ruth worked as an assistant manager for C.R. Anthony's while Chrisman served in the military. After his retirement she became a housewife. She loved to read, go to garage sales and doing puzzles.

Ruth is survived by her husband Chrisman of the home in Kingfisher, her daughter Jeannenne Orebaugh and husband Jerry Pictrowiez of Oklahoma City, 2 sisters Carolyn Farrar and husband John of Kingfisher and Louise Ross of Kingfisher. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 son Jack Brown in 1987, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 10, 2013, at Hayes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Russell Houser of Cornerstone Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Kingfisher Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.

Visitation will be on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.
