The funeral for Loyd Curtis Brooks, 80, of Mustang, will be 2 PM Monday at First Christian Church. The Rev. Danny Hinkle will officiate.

Burial will be held in Kingfisher Cemetery with American Legion Funeral Rites. Arrangements are by Sanders Funeral Service, Inc.

He was born June 30, 1921, in Loyal to Richard and Dollie A. Stewart Brown and died Thursday, December 6, 2001, at Integris Baptist Medical Ctr., Oklahoma City.

He grew up on a farm in the Omega area and graduated from Omega high school in 1939. He served in the Army during World War I I. He married Hulda Anna Cross May 2, 1942, in Enid. He returned to Omega to work the farm for the next 18 years. In 1964, they moved to Edmond where he was involved in the heat and air-conditioning business. They moved to Mustang in 1992. He was a member of Antioch Christian Church, Oklahoma City.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters and two grandchildren.
