Lela Marie (Moland) Ball
The funeral for Lela Marie Moland Ball, 97, of Kingfisher, will be 2 p.m Monday at Federated Church. Charles Smith, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Kingfisher Cemetery. Arrangements are by Sanders Funeral Service, Kingfisher.
She was born Jan. 11, 1911, in Dover Ark., to Robert and Susan Elizabeth "Bessie" Moland and died Friday, Feb. 29, 2008, at Cimarron Nursing Center.
She graduated from Drumright High School in 1930. She married Richard Ival Ball May 10, 1937, in Enid. He died in 1969. She worked as a waitress and clerk in Drumright and as a telephone switchboard operator for Southwestern Bell in Shamrock, Texas. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Kingfisher, where she assisted with Sunday school and Bible school. She taught Sunday school at Drumright Methodist Church several years. She assisted with Brownies and Girl Scouts and worked with Meals on Wheels, where she earned a 15-year pin. She also helped in the Thrift Shop.
Surviving are two daughters, Marie Ball Love of Pink and Nancy Ball Hudson of San Juan Capistrano, Calif.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her husband, Richard, she was preceded in death by two brothers.
Memorials may be made to Federated Church of Kingfisher.
