Marvin E. Baker
A graveside memorial service for Marvin E. Baker, 85, of Weatherford, Texas, formerly of Kingfisher, will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Kingfisher Cemetery. Arrangements are by Sanders Funeral Service Inc., Kingfisher.
He was born Jan. 28, 1922, in Kingfisher and died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2007, at a Weatherford nursing home.
He graduated from Kingfisher High School in 1939 and attended New England Conservatory of Music in Boston. He joined the Army in 1943 and served as a medical technician clerk. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge during his time in France. After serving in the Army from 1943 to 1945, he graduated from the University of Chicago in 1948. He taught piano in Fort Worth, Texas, from 1952 to 1995, when he retired at age 73.
Surviving is one sister, Helen Barrackman of Kingfisher.
He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
