A graveside service for Gene Ray, 79, of Hennessey, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Hennessey Cemetery. Judith Robinson will officiate. Arrangements are by Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home, Hennessey.
He was born Sept. 5, 1927, in Bison to Flake and Ruth Jones Ray and died Friday, June 1, 2007, at the Veterans Medical Center in Oklahoma City.
He married Orlene Miller Nov. 18, 1947, in Enid. He was a member of Nazarene Church of Hennessey.
Surviving are two sons, Larry Ray of Catoosa and Kenneth Ray of Jasper, Ark.; one daughter, Patsy Johnson of Luther; 16 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Orlene, one brother, one sister and one great-grandson.
