The funeral for Pedro Moreno, 70, of Hennessey, will be 9 a.m. Thursday at Cristo Rey Baptist Church, Hennessey. The Rev. Ramon Aleman will officiate. Burial will be in Hennessey Cemetery. Arrangements are by Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home, Hennessey.

He was born Sept. 4, 1937, in Puebla, Mexico, to Angel and Petra Mejia Moreno and died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2008, in Irving, Texas.

He married Guadalupe Martinez in Aurora, Ill., in 1970. They made their home in Hennessey prior to moving to Texas.

Surviving are his wife, Lupe; five sons, Abel Moreno and Daniel Moreno, both of Hennessey, Raul Moreno of Killeen, Texas, Alejandro Moreno of McAlester and Pedro Moreno Jr. of Fairbanks, Alaska; three daughters, Cecilia Hernandez of Hennessey, Ana Etherton of Killeen and Raquel Moreno of Kingston; and 11 grandchildren.
