Juanita Rosetta (Hoover) Mesis, 99, Hennessey, died peacefully at her home in Hennessey Fri., May 27, 2016.

She was born in Ritchie County, West Virginia Jan. 27, 1917 to Andrew Jackson and Della May Hoover. The family received friends from 6:30- 7:30 p.m. Mon., May 30 at Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home in Hennessey. Graveside services were held on Tues., May 31, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Hennessey Cemetery with Jimmy Berkenbile officiating. 

Juanita graduated from Hennessey High School in 1935. She married Vincent Mesis. They celebrated sixty two years of marriage prior to his death in 1998. They made their home on a farm east of Hennessey where she still resided at the time of her death. Vincent and Juanita worked side by side on the farm, from driving the wheat truck, running the tractor, or tending to their chores of taking care of the cattle and chickens. It is what she truly loved and enjoyed. She loved mowing her yard and continued taking care of it well into her 90’s. Juanita was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. She loved and adored her family. They always came first. 

Juanita is survived by her children, Della Moulson and husband Richard, Jessie Kersey, Vincent Mesis, Jr. and wife Janet. Grandchildren Richard Moulson, Jr. and wife Janice, grandson in law Mark Croka, Juliana Reimer and husband Curt, Tara Kersey-Barrett and husband Buddy, Vince Mesis and wife Toni, and Sean Mesis. Great grandchildren Kaci Croka, Lindsay Brown and husband Justin, Taylor and Carson Reimer, Sophie Barrett, Marcus and Olivia Mesis. Great-great grandchildren Lane and Lilly Brown. Longtime friend Margaret Skoda who was like a daughter, and companions/ caregivers Becky Weathers, Patti Luna and Neva Sharp  

Preceding her in death were her husband, Vincent; her parents, Andrew Jackson and Della May Hoover; her siblings, Jessie, Eugene, Martin and Lillian; one son-in-law. Julian Kersey; a daughter-inlaw,  Nancy Mesis, and a granddaughter, Robin Croka. 

Memorial donations may be made in her name to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation- Cancer Division or Hospice Circle of Love with the funeral home serving as custodian of the fund.
