12/20/1945

Funeral rites for Mrs. J. W. Harding were held at the First Methodist Church at 2:30 Monday afternoon with the pastor Rev. M. Cartwright in charge, and Edwin Knowles, minister of the First Christian Church, assisting. Old friends were there to pay their respects to a friend of many years. Interment was made in Hennessey Cemetery.

Ermina Rea Stewart, daughter of James Fletcher Stewart and Elizabeth Ann Stewart, was born in Schuyler County, Missouri, April 4, 1874 and fell asleep December 12, 1945.

Ms. Stewart was married to John W. Harding July 11, 1901, at Hennessey, Oklahoma. Two sons were born to this union, Bradley Stewart, deceased and John Fletcher.

Mrs. Harding is survived by her husband, John W. Harding and one son, John Fletcher Harding of Enid, Oklahoma, and four grandchildren. She also leaves two sisters and two brothers: Mrs. G. W. Bush and Mrs. A. E. Dickson, of Hannibal, Missouri; O. W. Stewart of Brownington, Missouri, and Charles L. Stewart, of Los Angeles, California.

Mrs. Harding became a member of the Methodist Church in early life and lived a beautiful Christian life to the end of her earthly journey. Before she was married she spent several useful years in the teaching profession. She taught in Missouri, Idaho, Louisiana and Oklahoma.

A host of friends, with the family mourn her passing, for she was a great friend and neighbor, a loving mother and faithful companion. She bore her misfortunes in great patience and Christian fortitude.
