Harold was born in Lacy on Sept. 5, 1926, to Fred and Elexis Golding Brawner and died Wednesday July 11, 2012, at Mercy Hospital, Oklahoma City. He graduated from Dover High School and served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Harold married Mildred Klingsick in Enid on June 4, 1949. Following her death, he married Doris Paine in January 2003.

Harold was a member of American Legion and Dover Christian Church. He was a former Mayor of Dover.

Harold is survived by one son, Gary Brawner and wife Suzan of Dover; one daughter, Judy Kidd and husband Alan of Owasso; four grandchildren, Sasha Gilbert and husband Troy of Dover, Patrick Brawner and wife Mary of Mustang, Clint Kidd and wife Courtney of Griffith, Ind., and Nick Kidd of Sand Springs; four great-grandchildren, Dylan Stokes-Gilbert, Kelsey Gilbert, Shelby Gilbert and Elizabeth Brawner.

Harold was preceded in death by both wives, six brothers and two sisters
