John Raymond Carlisle was born May 2, 1957 in Portales, New Mexico to James Edward and Etna Corene (Hill) Carlisle. He passed away July 26, 2009 in Cashion, Oklahoma at the age of 52 years.

John worked as a carpenter, store manager, and many years as a stone mason. He was always real particular about any work that he did. His stone work was always immaculate. If it wasn’t right it didn’t stay. John worked for a number of mason contractors. He was also in business for himself for awhile. At the time of his death he was employed by Mason’s Masonry. John enjoyed fishing, camping and occasionally a round of golf. He was attending church at New Life Fellowship in Cashion.

Survivors include, his girlfriend of 16 years, Tammy Wells and daughter, Paige Corene Carlisle of Crescent; step daughters, Erica Marriot and Krystal Bloodworth and husband, Mike and their son Dakota Bloodworth of Virginia; seven sisters, Mary Hill and husband George of Texico, NM, Pearlia Tivis and husband Delbert of Clovis, NM, Goldie Wall and husband Troy of Lubbock, TX, Clara Hughes and husband Ronnie of Plainview, TX, Glenda Bell and husband Ernie of Rose, OK, Betty Chambers and husband Nick of Portales, NM, Martha Robbins and husband Terry of Azalea, OR; one brother, Marvin Eminger and wife Cleta of Cashion, OK; one sister-in-law, Diana Carlisle of Grand Junction, CO. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and many many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents James and Corene and by one brother, James W. Carlisle.

Graveside services will be held at the Cashion Cemetery in Cashion, Oklahoma on Friday, July 31, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Doug Hinkle officiating.
