Wesley Lee Baker

Wesley Lee Baker died February 3, 2008 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 78 years, 2 months and 16 days. He was born November 18, 1929 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to Charles Wesley and Lillie (White) Baker.

On August 29, 1956 he married Shirley Johnson, she preceded him in death on April 18, 2007.   

Wes was born and raised in the Pauls Valley and lived there until he joined the Army in 1947. He returned to Pauls Valley after he was discharged from the Army in 1954. He moved to Cashion in 1968 with his job in the oil field working for Ramsey Oil. He then went to work for Key Energy and was still employed at the time of his death. Wes loved the outdoors, especially fishing and spending time with his family.

Survivors include, two daughters, Gayla Hill of Oklahoma City and Sherry Murray and husband Ronnie of Kingfisher; three sons, Marty Baker of Cashion, James Baker of Cashion and Doyle Baker of Oklahoma City; two sisters, Maudie Mitchell of Borger, TX and Earlene Millhollon of Pauls Valley, OK; one brother, William Baker of Ratliff City, OK; nine grandchildren, Brandi Krittenbrink and husband Brian, Justin Baker and wife Reice, Holly Hawkins, Ronna Farrow and husband Donald, Crystal Farrow and husband Darryl, Kelly Farrar and husband Wade, John Murray and Shannon Murray; eleven great grandchildren, Wyatt and Grace Krittenbrink, Drew and Ryan Baker, Erika, Jonathon, Macayla and James Farrow, Kelsey, Kyle and Ryan Farrow.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Shirley, granddaughter, Valerie Hill, sister, Maggie Thompson and by three brothers, James L. Baker, Elmer Baker and his twin Charles E. Baker.


Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Thursday, February 7, 2008 at the First Christian Church in Cashion with Pastor Doug Hinkle officiating, burial will follow in the Cashion Cemetery.

Services are under the direction of Abernathy Aaron Funeral Home in Crescent, Oklahoma. Condolences may be sent to the family at abernathyaaron.com.
