Hennessy – Wake service for Anton John Vculek, 89, who died Thursday morning in a Perry hospital, will be at 8 PM today in the Cordry and Son of Funeral Home Chapel in Hennessey.

Funeral mass will be at 10 AM Saturday in St. Joseph's Church with the Rev. John W. Schellerr and the Rev. Ward J. Pankratz as celebrants.

Vculek will be buried in the Calvary Cemetery at Hennessey with Cordry's in charge of arrangements.

Vculek was born February 5, 1891, at Weston, Nebraska, and moved with his parents to Bison in 1895.  He lived and farmed in that area until 1946 when he moved to Marshall, then to Hennessey in 1965.

He was a veteran of World War I and a member of the American Legion Post. He was also a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church at Hennessey and the Catholic Workmen.

Vculek and Mary Anna Rexas were married June 6, 1922, at Bison. Mrs. Vculek died January 19, 1970 and a son Tony on December 22, 1979. His daughter – in – law Winifred lives in Perry.

Vculek is survived by two brothers, Louis Vculek of Hennessey and Emile Vculek of Enid.
