Kyle Dean (aka “Beep”)Tah was born August 6, 1953, Pawnee, Oklahoma. “Beep” was called home Thursday, August 16, 2018, having just celebrated his 65th birthday in Tulsa, Oklahoma where he resided with his sister (Caregiver), Wessie Loretta Tah. Kyle was a former resident of Tonkawa, Oklahoma and Watonga, Oklahoma.
Kyle was the youngest of 8 siblings of parents Wesley Tah and Ardelia Cries For RibbsTah. Kyle was an enrolled member of the Apache Tribe of Oklahoma, and a descendent of the Tonkawa and Ponca tribes of Oklahoma.
He is survived by two sisters; “Wessie Loretta Tah,” Tulsa, Oklahoma (who cared for him with all his challenges) a “loving sister” “Sharon Tah Romero, Lawrence, Kansas” and a brother Mike Tah, Red Rock, Oklahoma. Kyle was “Uncle Beep” to many nieces and nephews; a grandfather and great-grandfather to his siblings’ children.
Beep was proceeded in death by his parents; two sisters, Ruth Tah McHenry, Valeta Tah Birdcreek; and two brothers, Donavan Tah, and Daniel Lee Tah.
Kyle was an enrolled member of the Apache Tribe of Oklahoma, and a descendent of the Tonkawa and Ponca Tribes of Oklahoma.
Kyle’s paternal grandfather was Robert Tah, Tonkawa; son of Texanna, (Tonkawa). His Paternal Grandmother was Alice Whitebear, Apache Tribe of Oklahoma. Maternal Grandfather, Solon Cries For Ribbs, Ponca; and Lucy Blueback Cries For Ribbs, Ponca Maternal Grandmother.
Beep loved to work on lawnmowers, cars, fishing, and hunting with his big brothers Don and Daniel. He enjoyed traditional native beadwork such as making key chains, listening to his favorite singer Johnny Cash, singing gospel songs, playing his guitar and his flute “which he taught himself to play”; and he loved to Gourd Dance with his brother Daniel, singing Ponca songs and listening to the Yellowhammer Drum Group. He looked forward to eating hamburgers and drinking cokes at the Sonic Drive Inn Happy Hour. He had a kind heart and a gentle soul.
Viewing will begin at 12:00 pm on Sunday, August 19, 2018 at the Tonkawa Tribal Gym. A wake service will begin at 6:00 pm that evening. The funeral ceremony will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, August 20, 2018 at the Tonkawa Tribal Gym with burial to follow at the Tonkawa Tribal Cemetery. The feast will begin at 11:30 am on Monday before the funeral.
