Melissa Kay Martin, Tonkawa resident, passed away at her home on Friday, September 3, 2010. She was 43.

Melissa was born in Ponca City, Oklahoma on January 15, 1967 the daughter of Michael Games Oxford and Sharon Kay Dollarhide. She attended school in Tonkawa where she met David Lee Martin, her companion of 25 years. Melissa loved spending time with her friends and family.

She is survived by her parents, Michael and Sharon companion, David Martin of Tonkawa, Oklahoma children, Destiny Martin and boyfriend, Dustin Thompson of Tonkawa, Oklahoma, Chance Martin and girlfriend, Charlie Mahtapene of Tonkawa, Oklahoma, Treven Widener of Denver, Colorado, Dru Martin and wife, Christy of Enid, Oklahoma and Dustin Epperson of Tonkawa, Oklahoma sister, Misty Macullough of Alva, Oklahoma brothers, Mike Oxford of Winfield, Kansas and Kelly Oxford of Arkansas City, Kansas grandmother, Bernice Dollarhide and grandchildren, Kayson Dean Thompson, Cochana Martin Zahara Martin and Ziakyla Martin.

She is preceded in death by her grandfather, Ralph Dollarhide.

Casket bearers for the service will be Floyd Allen, Gabriel Propper, Jeffery Thompson, T.J. Martin, Tommy Stout, Mike Belt, Dustin Thompson and Tanner Epperson.

There will be an evening prayer service at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, September 5, 2010 at the Tonkawa Tribal Gym. The noon meal will be held on Monday, September 6, 2010 at the Tonkawa Tribal Gym, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Tony Cerre. Burial will be at Fort Oakland Tribal Cemetery in Tonkawa, Oklahoma.
