ENID, Okla. Carl David Williams, 90, passed away Saturday, August 17, 2013, at Integris Blackwell Regional Hospital, Blackwell, Oklahoma. He was born on January 12, 1923, in Wolco, Oklahoma, to Buford Muriel and Vera Agness (Orsburn) Williams.

Carl started school in McKinney, Texas, went to school in Wichita, Kansas, then high school in Ponca City, graduating from Tonkawa High School, and attended NOC in Tonkawa. He lettered four years in basketball, two of those years in Tonkawa. He was honorably discharged from the Army in 1943.

Carl married the love of his life, Nadine Pierce, on January 28, 1946, in Wichita, Kan., and they celebrated 62 years of marriage before her death July 2, 2008. They lived in the Tonkawa area for 27 years, moving in 1973 to Ponca City, OK, and then moved back to Tonkawa in 2001.

Carl worked in the oil field and was a postal worker in Ponca City for 20 years before retiring. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion and the D.A.V. He enjoyed playing golf, riding motorcycles and taking long-distance trips.

He is survived by his daughters, Anita Louise Gable and her husband, Phil of Enid, OK, Rebecca Carlene Burris and her husband, Gene of St. Joseph, LA, and Gayla Eileen Odenwald and her husband, Ralph of Billings, OK, a brother, Gordon Francis Williams of Blackwell, OK; a special niece, Marilyn Ramey and husband, John of Tonkawa, OK; four grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; and numerous other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nadine; his parents; his brothers, Earl Floyd and Wayne Douglas Williams and a sister, Wilma Merle Witchuch.

Graveside services will be Wednesday, August 21, 2013, at 2 p.m. in Tonkawa I.O.O.F. Cemetery with Dr. Glen Cope officiating and military honors. Arrangements are under the direction of Anderson Funeral Home, Tonkawa.

Pallbearers will be Carl Gable, Ricky Price, Nolan Roundtree, Westen Vincent, Alex Estes, Mark Daniel, Tyler Vincent and Tony Wedel.

Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 337, Tonkawa, OK 74653.

A special thank you to the Intergris Blackwell Regional Hospital Staff and their Home Health Care for all their loving care of Carl.
