The funeral for J.D. “Jimmy Dale” Summers, 25, of Commerce, formerly of Tonkawa, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Christian Life Church, Tonkawa. Andy Young will officiate. Burial will be in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Tonkawa. Arrangements are by Tonkawa Funeral Home.

He was born Oct. 2, 1982, in Ponca City to Jimmy Dale Beard and Sherri Sue Drake and died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2008, at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin, Mo. He attended Tonkawa public schools. He married Melissa Phillips Jan. 4, 2007, in Miami, Okla. They worked together for Loving Care RCF, Joplin.

Surviving are his wife, Melissa, of the home; his parents, Sherri and Jim Summers, of Tonkawa, and Jimmy Dale Beard, of Blackwell; one daughter, Bernadette and one son Brent, both of the home; one brother, Jamie Paul, of Tonkawa; and two sisters, Michelle Nichole Martin and Kandi Sue Summers, both of Tulsa.
