September 1, 1931 - November 19, 2019

Mary Lou Gorman, 88, died on November 19, 2019. A graveside ceremony will be held on Tuesday, November 26th, at 2:00 pm at the IOOF Cemetery in Tonkawa, OK.

Mary Lou was born on September 1, 1931 to Wallace and Lelia (Nigh) Goodson and raised in Ralston, OK. Mary Lou married Calvin Lee Gorman in Ralston on December 20, 1950 and they made their home in Tonkawa, OK. She was a member of the choir, the pianist and music director for the 2nd Baptist Church in Ponca City and Tonkawa for many years and active in Eastern Stars. Her mother often said “God Gave her a Song”.

She is survived by her daughters, Cynthia Cohenour (husband Patrick) of Yukon, OK, and Sylvia Cowin (husband Richard) of Austin, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Lee and son, Richard Edward Gorman.

She was loved by her grandchildren, Angela Thomas (husband Aaron), Tasha Joy, and Stephen Cowin (wife Bethany), and had recently seen all her great-grandchildren, Ashton Thomas, Anwyn Thomas, Alice Cowin, Hilde Cowin, and Stellan Cowin.

Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.
