James Mark Bray
1953 - 1982





Local Fireman Killed in Head-On Collision
Funeral services were held for James Mark Bray, 29 year-old Weatherford Fire Fighter.He was killed in a head on car-truck collision on Interstate 40 Wednesday night, December 22, 1982, about 8:50 p.m. An El Reno man also died. Bray, who was ejected upon impact was transported to Parkview Hospital in El Reno where he died of head and internal injuries.
Bray was employed by the Weatherford Fire Department and R.C. Daniels. Prior to joining the Fire Department, he served as a Custer Co. Deputy for about 4 years. He had also worked for the Weatherford Police Department.
He was born September 16, 1953 to Lonnie and Sally Bray. He graduated from Enid High School with the Class of 1971.
He is survived by his children; two sons, Matt and Corey; one daughter, Amy; his parents; one sister, Susan; and two brothers, Mike and Lonnie Jr.
Funeral services and burial in the Tonkawa IOOF Cemetery were under the direction of the Lockstone Funeral Home.
