Sylvia Acosta, resident of Ponca City, passed away Thursday, October 15, 2009, at Ponca City Medical Center. She was 44.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am, Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Joe Swartz, officiating. A rosary will be held 6 pm Monday, October 19, 2009 in the Trout Funeral Home Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.

Sylvia was born on Monday, April 26, 1965 to the late Pedro C. Acosta and Elidia C. Carrillo in Carlsbad, New Mexico. She was raised in Odessa, Texas. She was married to the late Guadalupe Valdez Carrasco on November 27, 1984 in Odessa, Texas. She worked as a Housekeeper.

She loved her family, grandchildren and friends, her hobbies included cooking (home made tamales) and her enjoyment was at local casinos.

She is survived by one daughter Krystal Carrasco and her husband Julio Estrada, two sons Marc Acosta and Ramon Acosta all of Ponca City, two grandchildren Julian Estrada and Kaleb Estrada, her mother Elidia C. Acosta, two brothers Alejandro Acosta and his wife Mary Lou of Odessa, Texas, Pedro C. Acosta Jr. and his wife Mona of Big Spring, Texas, two sisters Martha Acosta of Haltom City, Texas and Rosa I. Acosta of Ponca City.

She was preceded in death by her husband Guadalupe V. Carrasco and her father Pedro C. Acosta and her grandparents.
