John Browning Pangburn, 79, of Ponca City, Oklahoma, passed away November 23, 2021, in Blackwell, Oklahoma.

He was born on July 9, 1942 to Samuel L and Verona (Browning) Pangburn in Oklahoma City, OK. He attended school at Alva, OK for 12 years. He worked at Wharton Funeral Home in Alva as a Funeral Director for a short time. John enrolled in the Oklahoma University Physical Therapy program and obtained his Bachelor’s in Physical Therapy. His career spanned 52 years in various healthcare settings, including his private practice, Physical Therapy Center in Ponca City, Oklahoma.

On February 14, 1998, he married Catherine George, at Temple, Texas. John was a member of Abundant Life United Pentecostal Church of Stillwater, OK at the time of his passing. His favorite hobbies included collecting antiques and OU Football.

John is survived by his loving spouse of 23 years Catherine, of the home; His son, Samuel J Pangburn, DO and wife Audra Pangburn, of Tulsa, OK, and grandchildren Payton Pangburn, Janci Pangburn, Samuel “Reece” Pangburn, and Samuel “Rhett” Pangburn; and His daughter, Juli Hildreth, and husband Bret Hildreth, of Longview, TX, and grandchildren Dalton Hildreth, of Mary Esther, FL, and Abbie Hildreth, of Forney, TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents Samuel & Verona Pangburn, of Alva, OK.

Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM, Monday, November 29, 2021, at Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, Ponca City, Oklahoma.

John’s funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at the Carolyn Renfro Event Center at the Hospice Complex, 445 Fairview Ave, Ponca City, OK 74601.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that remembrances be made in the form of charitable donations to Abundant Life United Pentecostal Church.
