Sye Morris, longtime resident of Ponca City, passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2015 at the Ponca City Medical Center. He was 85.

Graveside services will held on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Dennis Wildman presiding. Arrangements are under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel Funeral Home. Friends may pay their respects at Grace Memorial Chapel from noon to 8 p.m. on Thursday and from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday.

Sye was born on November 4, 1919 in Fairfax, Oklahoma, the son of Alvin James and Sara Ann Morris. Sye served in the United States Navy for 6 years and 3 months and was honorably discharged on June 16, 1952.

When he returned, he worked as an electrician and then purchased Sye?s Club where he was the owner/operator for 50 years. He enjoyed bowling and playing golf in earlier years.

Survivors include his niece, Sarah Butler of Ponca City; a nephew, Edwin Lew Morris Jr. and wife, Brenda of Springfield, Missouri; and a large number of other nieces and nephews.
