Thelma Lois McDaniel, 89, passed away Thursday, May 29, 2014 in Edmond, OK.

Thelma was born on February 9, 1925 in Wakita, OK to Charles and Lula Hunsaker. Thelma was a lifelong member of the First Christian Church of Ponca City. She was an extraordinary homemaker making the best meringue pies ever. She also enjoyed baking especially with her granddaughters. She enjoyed quilting, sewing and fellowship with family and friends. She was a very competitive Pitch player. She and Leslie McDaniel were married on May 5, 1945.

Thelma was preceded in death by her parents her husband, Son Mark and DaughterInLaw Stephanie McDaniel, 7 siblings Beulah, Marie, Elmer, Wanita, Avena, Jack Clifford.

Thelma is survived by her daughter Myrna Joyce Newman of Edmond, Grandchildren Kelli McDaniel, Lacy her husband Garrett Schubert and Vandie and her husband Bobby Singleton. Great grandchildren Bree Anna Allen, Caitlin Allen, Elijah Hayley, Ron Hayley, JR, Mason Schubert, Maddox Schubert, Maverick Schubert, B.J. Singleton, Brianna Singleton, Kirsten Singleton and Abby Singleton. Great Great Grandchildren Tre Ramirez and Gabe Singleton. Also by numerous other relatives.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at Grace Memorial Chapel, with Pastor Chris Short officiating, burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery of Ponca City.
