Betty Elaine Lickliter made the transition peacefully to her heavenly home in the care of her family on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at her home in Ponca City. Betty Elaine was born August 3, 1947, the daughter to Eddie and Clara RutherfordGrimley. Betty graduated from Burbank High School in 1965 then continued her education at Northern Oklahoma College. Betty completed her LPN degree at Pioneer VoTech in 1979. She married William Charles Lickliter on June 18, 1965 by Rev. James Still at the Southside Baptist Church in Ponca City.

Betty was a member of Pioneer Christian Church in Ponca City. She worked 12 years at the Ponca City Medical Center as a medicalsurgical nurse. After retirement, due to bad health, Betty continued as a private nurse.

Betty had four children, Clara, Sharla, Charlie and John. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved to have family gatherings and cookouts. Whenever the family gathered, there was always a deck of cards involved. Betty loved to play all sorts of card games and enjoyed Wahoo.

Over the years, Betty had many hobbies and interests. She was one of the biggest Elvis fans, and enjoyed collecting Elvis memorabilia. She loved to listen to country music, spend time at the casino and play cards with friends and family. Betty spent most of her evenings doing embroidery or reading a good book.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Charles daughters Clara Ray and husband Robert of Cabot, Arkansas Sharla Hays and husband Larry of Ponca City son Charlie Lickliter and wife Kristin of Ponca City son John Lickliter of Ponca City. Grandchildren Justin, Jarred, Amanda, Keshia, Kelly, and Megan, and greatgrandchildren Kaiden, Kinley, Alexis, Will, Braxton, Bently, and Sophie two sisters Mildred Ratliff and Sue Luedeman of Ponca City brother Stan Rutherford and wife Cherie of Stillwater, Oklahoma.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Glenda Williams of Seattle, Washington and Connie Rutherford of Oklahoma City.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 13, 2012 at Grace Memorial Chapel with Rev. Tom Howard presiding. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery.
