Vonda May Hollingsworth

Vonda M. Hollingsworth, 80, of Ponca City, passed away Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013 at Ponca City Medical Center. Vonda was born on March 7, 1933 in Ponca City to George E. and Beaulah (Dougherty) Quimby.  

Vonda grew up in Ponca City and was a graduate of Ponca City High School in 1951. She and Lee Hollingsworth were married on October 23, 1953 and they had 3 children; Leetta, Russell and George Ray. She was a homemaker and her hobbies included fishing, camping and spending time with her family.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, Infant son-George Ray, 1 Sister-Shirley Jones, 2 Brothers; Leonard and Vern Quimby. Her husband passed away on July 4, 2011.  

Vonda is survived by; daughter and her husband-Leetta and Terry Vanlandingham of OKC, son and his wife-Russell and Amy Hollingsworth of Ponca City. 4 Grandchildren; Jeremy and his wife Natalie Hollingsworth, Mendy and her husband Ray Johnson, Brian Vanlandingham and Eric Vanlandingham. 10 Great grandchildren; Daylynn Nixon, Shaylee Hollingsworth, Garrett Hollingsworth, Wyatt Hollingsworth, Emma Hollingsworth, Sabrina Johnson, Alana Johnson, Aaron Johnson, Makiya Johnson and Tarrant Johnson.  

Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Thursday at Grace Memorial Chapel.  

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, Oct. 25, 2013 at Grace Memorial Chapel with Father Richard Beckman, of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, officiating.

Casket bearers will be Brian Vanlandingham, Eric Vanlandingham, Jeremy Hollingsworth, Ray Johnson, Aaron Johnson and Tarrant Johnson. Honorary Casket Bearers will be; Don Jones, Buddy Klumpp and John Odom.  

Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends are invited to the family homestead, 8787 E. Prospect after the services.  

The family would like to extend special thanks to all the wonderful people at Via Christi who cared for our loving mother over the last couple of years.

Lee J. Hollingsworth, resident of rural Ponca City, passed away Monday, July 04, 2011 in Oklahoma City. He was 81 years of age.

Lee was born November 19, 1929 at Hunnewell, Kansas, the son of Thomas and Flecie Hollingsworth. He grew up on a farm near South Haven, Kansas. He was a 1951 graduate of Shidler High School. He was married to Vonda May Quimby on October 23, 1953. Lee was employed for several years as a John Deere mechanic for the Osage Implement Company in Ponca City. He later became a pipefitter, retiring in 1990. He was a member of the Local Pipefitters Union and his enjoyments were his grandchildren, fishing and camping.

He is survived by his wife, Vonda, of the home two children, Leetta Vanlandingham and husband, Terry, of Oklahoma City and Russell Hollingsworth and wife, Amy, of Ponca City one brother, Cecil Hollingsworth of Ponca City one sister, Mildred Hicks, also of Ponca City four grandchildren, Brian Vanlandingham, Eric Vanlandingham, Jeremy Hollingsworth and Mendy Johnson nine great grandchildren and other extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents one son, George Ray Hollingsworth two brothers, Frank and Forest Hollingsworth.

Family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 6th at Grace Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 7, 2011 at Grace Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery.
