Mary A. Hendrickson
1919 - 2008


Mary A. Hendrickson, formerly of Ponca City, died on Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at Silverado Senior Living in Plano, Texas where she resided the past five years to be close to family. She was 89.
Mary was the only child born to Joseph Alexander Biggs and Mary Catherine (Dues) Biggs. She was born on May 8, 1919 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. She graduated from Bartlesville High School and worked for Judge Heyl while attending Business College. She then worked for Phillips 66 in their Chemical and Treasury Departments.
On April 12, 1943 Mary married Floyd W. Hendrickson. Together they had two children, Chris and Kay whom they raised in Shidler, Oklahoma while Floyd worked for Phillips 66. After retirement the couple made their home in Ponca City, Oklahoma where they were active members of St. Mary's Catholic Church and enjoyed bowling on a mixed league.
Mary is survived by her children, Chris Hendrickson and wife, Lyndal of Bedford, Texas and Kay Sykora and husband, Robert of Dallas, Texas; four grandchildren, Jenny and husband, James Ellette of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Scott Hendrickson and wife, Tracey of Broken Arrow, Okahoma, Christian Sykora of Dallas, Texas and Aaron Sykora of Dallas, Tesas; and four great grandchildren, Jamie and Jonah Ellette of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Collin and Laney Hendrickson of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Floyd, 1990; and daughter-in-law, Joanie Hendrickson.
A rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, Decmber 26, 2008 at Grace Memorial Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 27, 2008 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father John Michalieka officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.
