James Edward Tucker
July 11, 1937 - August 13, 2022

James Edward Tucker passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2022 in Ponca City, OK. He was 85.

A public viewing will be held at Trout Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM. His funeral service will be at Faith Tabernacle, 501 S 5th St, Ponca City, OK 74601, on Thursday, August 18, 2022 at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park, Ponca City, OK. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK 74601.

James was born to Carroll and Martha (McKinnon) Tucker in Saginaw, MI on July 11, 1937. After high school and some college classes, he joined the United States Marine Corps on January 10, 1956 and was honorably discharged on January 9, 1959. He decided he wanted to continue to serve and joined the United States Army on December 19, 1960 and retired on March 31, 1978. James dedicated his life to serving his country and his Lord. While in the Army, he served in the Criminal Investigation Division and also as a pilot. He toured in Korea from December 27, 1974 to January 26, 1976. He was awarded many metals including four overseas service bars, the Air Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Bronze Star Medal with Third Oak Leaf Cluster, Purple Heart with First Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Aviator Badge, Bronze Star Medal with "V" Device, and numerous others for his valiant service. After his retirement as a Captain from the military, James and his wife Judith were motorcycle ministers, riding to those in need. He also served as a police chaplain for twenty years.

James is survived by his wife, Judith (Grabbe) Tucker, son Richard Edward, daughter Mary Evelyn Lewis, daughter Julia Ann Taylor, daughter Melodie Lynn Tucker, daughter Jean Marie Estes, 9 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Carroll and Martha Tucker.
